Psychotherapy

At Out Side In, our focus is on providing effective mental health treatment for those in need.  Although we provide service for a wide range of issues, Out Side In specializes in Trauma Informed Care.  We provide effective intervention for trauma related symptoms arising from grief and loss, to physical and/or sexual abuse, as well as combat related PTSD.    In addition to trauma, however, Out Side In offers service to address any emotional or mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to attachment or eating disorders.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is one of the primary tools we use to help people work through complex emotional and mental health issues.  EAP has been shown to be effective in treating a wide variety issues.  It has been successfully used to treat autism spectrum disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, attachment disorders, trauma, depression and anxiety, to name a few.  EAP is also an invaluable tool in teaching social skills, coping skills, anger management, and problem solving skills.

Although Equine Assisted Psychotherapy uses horses to increase the effectiveness of mental health treatment, it is not the only tool we use at Out Side In.   All therapists at Out Side In are licensed psychotherapists, and whether using horses or not, employ interventions from research based, proven, psychotherapy models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT and others.

Out Side In accepts most insurances for individual outpatient mental health services.  Our goal, however, is to provide service to anyone in need regardless of his/her ability to pay.  In addition to a sliding scale fee schedule, financial assistance and scholarships may be available for those in need.
